Graduate Student Financial Aid

The Department of Natural Resources and the Environment offers a limited number of full-time and half-time graduate teaching and research assistantships and fellowships, available on a competitive basis to graduate students admitted with regular status.

Application for assistantships and certain scholarships should be made directly to the Department, using the form provided with the application for admission to The Graduate School.  For full consideration for the fall semester, application by April 1st is suggested.

Stipend rates for graduate students are graduated in terms of progress toward advanced degree and experience. Current rates can be found at the University's Payroll Department.

Additional benefits include tuition waivers for any full-time student on a half or full -time assistantship.  Students on both half and full-time assistantships may purchase excellent health care coverage, heavily subsidized by UConn.  More information regarding medical insurance can be found at the University’s Human Resources website.
